It’s Yamaha DT360. It runs (mostly), has tires with cracks in it, and is in a completely different city than me, but it is mine (mostly). Put a deposit down, plans for a pair of Distenzas and a carb rebuild (or cleaning if I get lazy).

It’s the two-stroke thumper of my dreams (or nightmares - time will tell)

Pay the rest and pick up Saturday, after that comes the headaches (or joys?)

When I was 13 years old my sisters boyfriend had one just like that. I went to kick start it while wearing track running shoes and didn’t pull the compression release, big mistake! It kicked back so hard that it drove my heel into that boss on the swing arm, ripping open my heel and half severing my achilles tendon requiring 17 stitches. Hard lesson to learn, wear your boots and riding gear.

back when they were new my friend had one, tried to kick it like my 125, one thing you don’t do is lock your knee, I went over the bars

I had a DT175 that I got for free for a short while, I bought a bunch of non essential parts before I tried to get it running, and once I dug into the engine I discovered that the rings were stuck, it was already bored over, and NOS pistons cost around $300 (nothing else available) I sold it for $150 loss. I can proudly say though that I did get it running, it just had way low compression. Kinda wish I could have got it going, just wasn’t worth it. Have fun with yours! They look like awesome bikes.
